Image
The centre-right Forza Italia leader has reignited political debate by supporting "ius scholae," which would allow children of residents to acquire Italian citizenship after completing formal education in the country. Italy's deputy prime minister and the leader of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, has sparked political debate by supporting the introduction of "ius scholae" — the principle that grants Italian citizenship to children of foreign residents who complete their education in Italy. Speaking on radio station RTL 102.5, Tajani insisted that Forza Italia, the centre-right party founded by Silvio Berlusconi, remains loyal to its coalition allies and voters but emphasised his party's independence: "We are not a single party, and no one can give us orders." The move distances him from his partners in the country's governing right-wing coalition, positioning Forza Italia closer to opposition parties who reject hardline positions on immigration...

Differentiated autonomy, the League "opens" to Vincenzo De Luca

Image
rom the usual sermon by Vincenzo De Luca we learn that they intend to present a bill on autonomy". Severino Nappi, leader of the League in the Regional Council of Campania, attacks the governor of Campania and relaunches a common work on the issue. "The president of the council - Nappi continues - should clarify whether he is speaking only for himself or also on behalf of the various left-wing parties, considering that in that political part everyone seems to support different positions. In any case, if at least this time they were to move from words to actions, we are pleased that on the left they are starting to understand that working for the future of the South and Campania must be in everyone's interest and not an electoral campaign ground". "Therefore, at the next conference of group leaders - is the conclusion - we will propose the establishment of a council commission that, in an open, shared manner and without ideological and specious barriers, will j...
